Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data is collected when you visit scelta.co.uk, why, and what rights you have. Scelta is a brand operated by Civil Visuals Limited, which is the data controller for this website.
1. Who we are
The controller of personal data collected through this website is Civil Visuals Limited (“we”, “us”), which operates the Scelta brand.
- Registered office: Unit 4d Old Pill Farm Industrial Estate, Caldicot, Monmouthshire, NP26 5JH, United Kingdom
- Registered in England and Wales, company number 13248714
- Contact for privacy matters: hello@scelta.co.uk
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the public website at scelta.co.uk. Our interactive streaming configurator is provided separately to specific clients under its own access controls and is not part of this public website; where it processes personal data, that is covered by the agreement with the relevant client.
3. The data we collect
Information you choose to send us
If you email us using the address on the site, we receive your email address, any name you provide, and the contents of your message. We use this only to read and respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence.
Enquiries through the website form
If you use the enquiry form on our contact page, for example to arrange a private demonstration, we collect your name, your company, your work email address, the reason you selected and your message, together with the date and time you sent it. We use this only to respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send you automated follow-up emails.
Configuring a vehicle and enquiries
Configuring a vehicle in the configurator does not require any personal data. If you choose to save a configuration, we store the vehicle specification you selected (paint, wheels, trim and similar choices) together with a randomly generated reference code so you or anyone you share the link with can reload the same vehicle later — this saved record contains no name, email, or other personal data, and is retrievable by anyone who has the exact code, in the same way a printed brochure or a shared document link would be.
If you choose to submit an enquiry ("Request More Information"), we additionally collect the name, email address, and optional phone number and message you provide, together with a reference to the vehicle specification above, so that we (or the dealer you are enquiring with) can respond to you about the specific car you configured. We use this only to handle your enquiry.
Technical data needed to deliver the site
This website is served through Cloudflare, our hosting and content delivery provider. To deliver pages securely and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes limited request information on our behalf, including your IP address, browser user-agent string, the pages requested, and timestamps. This data is used for security, reliability and aggregate traffic measurement — not to identify you personally or to track you across other websites.
Analytics
The public pages of this site do not currently run any analytics script. If we add one, we will use a privacy-focused tool such as Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not store or share any personal data, and does not fingerprint or track visitors across sites — it gives only aggregate counts such as page views and referrers — and we will update this policy first.
Configurator usage analytics
Separately, the configurator itself records anonymous behavioural analytics — which options you viewed or selected, which screens you visited, and whether you requested a screenshot, PDF or saved a configuration — so we can understand how visitors use the configurator (for example, which options are popular) and improve it. Each visit is identified only by a randomly generated session reference held in your browser's memory for that visit; it is never written to a cookie or to disk, and a new visit (a page reload or a new tab) always gets a new one. No name, email, IP address, device fingerprint or other identifying information is included. If you go on to save a configuration or submit an enquiry in the same visit, the only link kept is the SC###### reference code described above — never your name or email.
Fonts
The site’s display typeface is served from our own domain. No font or other static asset on the public site is loaded from a third-party provider, so visiting the site does not disclose your visit to any font host.
4. Cookies and local storage
The public marketing pages of this site do not set any cookies.
The configurator uses two browser-storage mechanisms for the usage
analytics described above, neither of which is a cookie: an anonymous
session reference held only in your browser's memory for the
duration of your visit (never written to disk, and gone the moment
you reload or close the tab), and a small local queue
(browser localStorage) that briefly holds analytics
events before they are sent to our server, cleared once sent. Neither
is used for advertising, and neither is set on the public marketing
pages.
If a cookie-based or advertising technology is introduced, this policy and the site will be updated and, where the law requires it, your consent will be requested first.
5. Legal bases for processing (UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests — responding to enquiries you send us (including configurator enquiries and enquiries made through the website form), storing the vehicle specifications you choose to save so you can retrieve them later, and keeping the website secure, available and functioning correctly. We have assessed that this processing is limited and does not override your rights. The website enquiry form does not ask for consent, because we use your details only to reply to the enquiry you chose to send us.
- Consent — you must actively tick a consent checkbox before a configurator enquiry can be submitted. We also rely on consent if we later introduce technologies that require it (for example non-essential cookies), in which case we will ask first.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records to comply with the law.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, content delivery, security, storage of saved configurations and of configurator and website enquiries (Cloudflare D1), and (if enabled) privacy-focused analytics, acting as our processor.
- Our email provider (Resend) — to deliver configurator and website enquiries to our inbox and, where applicable, a confirmation email to you.
- Our email provider (Microsoft 365) — to receive and store correspondence you send us directly, including the enquiry notifications our website sends to us.
- Professional advisers, or authorities, where we are required to do so by law.
7. International transfers
Some of our providers, including Cloudflare, are based outside the UK or operate global infrastructure. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by an adequacy decision or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence, including configurator enquiries and enquiries made through the website form, is kept for no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless we need to keep it longer for a legal or contractual reason, after which it is deleted. Saved vehicle configurations (which contain no personal data) are kept indefinitely so shared links continue to work, unless you ask us to delete a specific one. Cloudflare’s security and log data is retained only for the short periods set by Cloudflare.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access a copy of your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability, in each case subject to the conditions in the law. To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@scelta.co.uk.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), though we would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
10. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. We keep the number of parties with access to enquiry correspondence to a minimum and rely on reputable providers with their own security programmes.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be made clear on the site.
12. Contact
